Terriers eek out win over GM

Cole Moore hits what proves to be the game winner

WESTMINSTER- Trailing by 10 points early in the second quarter, the BF boys looked to be on their heels versus a much improved Chieftain squad. It was at this pivotal moment that BF responded, closing out the quarter on a 15-2 run and seizing enough momentum to carry over into the second half for a 47-41 victory over their long time rival.

“We showed improvement down the stretch,” said Assistant Coach Josh Hanson. “We’re learning to take control of these close games, but we still have work left to do.”

Jamison Nystrom fueled the second quarter charge, scoring 12 of his 18 points in the frame on a mixture of mid-range jumpers, including hitting 4 straight over a 2 minute span.

In the fourth, the Chieftains would tie the contest on 2 occasions, but inside buckets by Pete Kamel (4 points), Cole Moore (5 points) and Jake Moore (9 points), along with clutch free throw shooting from Walker James (9 points) was just enough to give the Terriers their 8th win of the season and move them ahead of Green Mountain to 6th in the current Division 3 standings.

A big road contest awaits BF on Saturday when they travel to Clarendon to face off with Mill River. Tip time is 11am with no JV contest.
