46 free throws, 33 fouls. For anyone who traveled north to Orford NH for a clash between two of the conferences top teams, the fans were treated to a physical, somewhat choppy affair that saw the Raptors withhold several Terrier runs to earn the 74-60 victory.
“We can’t put a team to the free throw line as much as we did and expect a different result,” said Head Coach Evan Chadwick. “I am not upset with the effort, just the little things that turned this game into a foul-fest.”
The Terriers trailed by 12 at half after Rivendell ran off 10 straight points. BF would close to as few as 7 in the fourth after back-to-back threes by Jake Moore and Colby Dearborn, but the Raptors were able to hit 6 free throws in the final minute to close out the contest, dropping the Purple and White to 7-4 on the season.
Jamison Nystrom led all scorers with 31 points.
Bellows Falls will face off with Green Mountain on Wednesday. JV tips at 5:30 and Varsity at 7.
